Frequently Asked Questions

Because physical exfoliation should be limited to once a week.

We know it feels amazing the first time you use it, but using a physical exfoliant too often can irritate, thin, and dry out your skin. Over-scrubbing may also stimulate excess oil production, leading to blackheads and blocked pores. For best results, treat Revival as a once-a-week skin reset to smooth, refresh, and brighten without damaging your barrier.

Yes, Revival uses natural, biodegradable exfoliants that are safe for waterways.

Unlike traditional scrubs that relied on plastic microbeads, Revival is made with natural abrasives such as jojoba beads and bamboo fibres. These ingredients are biodegradable and pose no threat to aquatic life, making it a more eco-friendly choice for exfoliation.

Physical exfoliation scrubs away dead cells, while chemical exfoliation dissolves them.

Physical exfoliants use grains or beads (like those in Revival) to mechanically buff dead skin cells off the surface. Chemical exfoliants, on the other hand, use natural Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs), or fruit enzymes to gently dissolve the bonds holding dead cells together. Both methods smooth and brighten skin, but physical exfoliants provide instant polish, while chemical exfoliants offer a gentler, deeper approach that can be more suitable for sensitive skin.

Revival isn’t the best choice for sensitive or easily irritated skin.

Because Revival is a physical exfoliant, it can be too stimulating for skin that flares or reacts easily. If you do want to try it, use with a very light touch and only once every couple of weeks, but for most sensitive skin types we recommend a gentler option - such as a chemical exfoliant like our Brightening Berru Facial In A Jar or Midnihght Melt. These formulas exfoliate without abrasion and are generally better tolerated by delicate skin.
