Frequently Asked Questions

Will an oil balm leave my skin oily?

No, your skin should feel nourished and soft. Oil based cleansers clean your skin using a healthy oil exchange - the cleaning oil adheres to and remove make up and impurities and replacing these with good, skin loving nutrients. If you're feeling oily, there may be something else going on like a compromised skin barrier from over cleansing or exfoliating etc.

Why do I need to apply my cleanser to my face while dry?

Our oil-based cleansers are designed to emulsify (or milk up) with the addition of water. So in order to get that deep cleanse you're after we need we recommend applying your cleanser with dry hands to a dry face. This allows the oil to 'grab' onto the makeup, dirt and impurities before you add water to create a milk and wash the cleanser away.

Can I use this cleanser with lash extensions or lifts?

You can use any cleanser for the face, providing you avoid the eye area and only using our Smudge Budger micro fibre cloth around the eyes.

Where should I store my cleanser?

We recommend keeping your cleanser in a cool, dry place away from water - so not in the shower! Pop it close by and apply it before stepping into the shower with dry hands to a dry face. This prevents water diluting the effectiveness of your cleanser and will ensure there is full adhesion of product to skin. It can then be washed away easily in the shower.

Why donโ€™t you recommend cleansing in the morning?

As part of of the Skin Juice Daily Diet routine we recommend to only cleanse at night to help preserve your skin's natural protective barrier function. Your skin produces natural oils and secretions while you sleep, and these are essential in protecting the skin against irritation, dehydration and infection.
